What about deleting bad files; does etree get emailed for that also. Right now I just mark the subject and title fields delete for reference. If the Archive allowed this it would be a simple matter to run a script which would automatically delete every item which had delete alone in its title and keyword fields. I just delete everything from the title and subject fields and just add delete to each.

If you want to delete files from a fileset, just use the item editor - click "Edit item", then click "I want to change the files in my item". Then right-click>delete any files you want to delete.

If you're talking about deleting an entire fileset, send us an email at etree@archive.org and we can take it down for you.

Yes; I knew that about the files; why dont you just tell the uploaders to delete everything from the Title and Keyword fields, write in delete and then you can run a script that automatically deletes any filesets that just have 'delete" in both the title and keyword fields. Saves a lot of work, exactly what I do with some of my collections.

Not a bad idea but someone has to write and maintain the script, make sure it's working right, etc. We get maybe a half-dozen requests a week at this point so it's not hard to keep up with. :)

greenone,

Which email address are those requests sent to and is there a special heading for the subject line?

Send 'em to etree@archive.org - no special subject line needed. I see that your item is in Open Source Books; this is the admin address for the Live Music Archive but I believe we have admin privileges over there as well.
